About Saunakivi
Saunakivi compares traditional sauna kits and heaters on the figures their makers publish, and explains the choices a build involves.
What the site covers
Saunakivi covers traditional saunas: a room heated by a stove and a load of stones, where water thrown on the stones makes löyly, the Finnish word for that burst of steam. Kivi is Finnish for stone. The site currently lists 216 kits and heaters from 28 makers, and 17 guides to the decisions a buyer or builder faces.
Every specification on a product page comes from the maker's own website or manual and links to it. Where a figure is not on the maker pages we cite, we leave it out rather than estimate it.
What the site does not do
- We have not built, bought or tested the saunas and heaters listed here. The pages compare what the makers publish.
- We do not write about health. The site makes no claim that a sauna does anything for your body.
- We do not give electrical, structural or fire-safety instructions of our own. Where a maker publishes an installation requirement, we quote it and point you to the manual and a licensed professional.
